Me in Muskoka
My name is Lee Ann Eckhardt Smith and I am a professional writer who has published both fiction and non-fiction. My current passions are history and storytelling, which I plan to combine in this blog as well as in my upcoming book. The book – my “work in progress” - is the historical adventure story, Muskoka’s Main Street: The Muskoka Colonization Road, scheduled for release by Muskoka Books in spring 2012.
This blog will chronicle my process of writing the book. And also my adventures as a blogger – which might turn out to have a lot in common with the pioneers who came to Muskoka, Ontario in the 1860s. They found themselves in a rocky wilderness unlike anything they had ever experienced. Kind of like me, a baby-boomer in the blogosphere…
I live in Richmond, Ontario, with my husband and two sons. When I’m not writing or blogging, I’m sometimes running workshops from my series called, “How to Write Family History and Memoir, Even If You’re Not a Writer.”
